Shop Opportunities

General Shop Helpers -

 

You do not have to be an experienced wood worker in order to work at Wood Mill.  If you have the desire to learn as well as reasonably good work habits, we're willing to train you.  Many of our shop leaders were hired with little or no woodworking experience.

 

Tasks that you may be able to perform:

  • be a helper in our door, drawer, or other departments
  • keep the shop clean and neat
  • drive a fork lift
  • landscaping
  • operate our CNC router

 

Applicant Requirements - This job requires the applicant to:

  • be highly motivated and energetic
  • be able to read a measuring tape
  • be able to arrive at work each morning and be ready to work by 7:00 AM with minimal tardiness or absenteeism (starting time may vary depending on job responsibilities)
  • based on the role for which he was hired . . . provide for himself the following personal hand tools which must be available to him at all times while on the job:
    • tool pouch
    • hammer
    • measuring tape
    • utility knife
    • nail set
    • speed square
    • 1" putty knife
    • 1/8" pilot hole/countersink drill bit

 

Wages and Benefits:

  • Starting Pay: minimum wage - $10/hr. depending on skills.  Pay increases are based on merit, skill, attendance, and responsibility
