The custom cabinet business has changed dramatically since Texas Wood Mill Cabinets, Inc. began building cabinets back in 1981. Back then, just about every cabinet was either paint grade or Ash with simple center rail drawer slides and surface mounted hinges. Raised panel doors were just getting started in East Texas and most cabinets were built out of particle board.

Texas Wood Mill Cabinets has access to all the latest techniques and features. Consider this:

Construction Features

What makes a high quality cabinet is how it is put together. Texas Wood Mill Cabinets builds all of its cabinets using the same basic construction techniques. We begin by using high quality hardwood and plywood which are machined on precision tools and high tech CNC machinery. All our face frames are glued and screwed together for tight clean joints. Plywood is cut and drilled using a precision CNC router that ensures every cabinet is square and every shelf is perfectly spaced. All our shelves are recessed into the vertical partition to ensure a strong joint. Vertical partitions are strategically placed to avoid sagging shelves and to separate drawer stacks from the rest of the cabinet.

Woods

Texas Wood Mill Cabinets builds custom cabinets using just about any species you desire.  From imported hardwood, to exotic veneers and even plastics, our team can custom design and fabricate just about any cabinet to meet your needs.

A note about MDF.  MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) is commonly used in paint-grade cabinetry.  This is not the 'particle board' of old, MDF is a high grade composite material constructed from recycled wood and resin and is specifically engineered to provide a very smooth and stable surface for paint-grade cabinetry; often-times.  As a standard, our company uses MDF for Paint Grade cabinet backs and the center panel of cabinet doors; ie, non-structural items.  MDF is also less expensive which generally translates to an overall savings on cabinet costs vs. traditional stained wood cabinetry.
